Website uptime checker
This tool requests the URL you enter and reports whether the server answers, which HTTP status code it returns, and how long the response took. You also see time to first byte (TTFB) and every redirect hop up to five steps. Uptime checks are the foundation of monitoring: a single slow or failing response often means visitors see an error even when your hosting panel looks fine. Running the check here shows what an anonymous client experiences right now. Use a full URL or a bare domain (we default to https). Only public addresses on ports 80 and 443 are allowed.
Questions about this checker
What is time to first byte (TTFB)?
TTFB is how long elapses from starting the request until the first byte of the response arrives. High TTFB often points to slow DNS, TLS, or server processing before any HTML is sent.
Why does the final URL differ from what I entered?
Many sites redirect http to https or www to non-www. The checker follows up to five redirects and lists each hop so you can see where the browser ends up.
Which HTTP status codes are treated as up?
Any response with a status code is reported as received. Codes in the 2xx and 3xx ranges usually mean the server is reachable; 4xx and 5xx mean the URL answered but reported an error.
How is this different from SiteMon monitoring?
This is a single request at the moment you run the tool. SiteMon Watch repeats similar checks every five minutes and emails you when a check fails.
